Come experience better dental care through the benefits of high technology!
We Can See Clearly Now!
Our intra-oral camera is device about the size of a pen that is placed in the mouth and produces a clear, magnified picture of the teeth and soft tissues. The patient can view this full-size image on our flat-screen monitors, helping them to better understand their dental problem and why treatment is needed. It is also great to capture before and after images of the teeth and procedures.

Surgical Telescopes are used to magnify the small field in which the doctors work by up to 3.5 times. This allows for the detection of conditions that frequently remain unnoticed with the naked eye. It also allows for a greater degree of precision, resulting in the conservation of tooth structure and promoting tooth longevity.
Dental Dams are routinely used for most procedures in our office. Though uncommon to most patients, dental dams provide our doctors with clear, unhindered access to your teeth. The dam is gently placed over the tooth we work on to isolate it from the rest of your mouth. This isolation keeps water and debris out of your mouth creating a much more comfortable dental experience. It also protects your mouth from the removal of old mercury fillings as well as providing a necessary dry field in which to place your new tooth-colored fillings.
Fiber-Optic Handpieces provide direct lighting for our doctors while working in hard to reach areas. This additional lighting facilitates the uncomplicated removal of tooth decay and broken-fillings to make your visit both faster and easier!
Reduced Radiation, Radical Results!
Traditionally, dentists find out what’s going on inside your mouth by taking a series of x-rays, developing them in a darkroom full of chemicals, and then examining the resulting films on a special light board. This cumbersome process has been outdated by our digital radiography system. Now, you simply relax in the dental chair while a tiny ‘sensor’ is positioned briefly inside your mouth. The sensor is very sensitive to x-rays. The result? Our patients are exposed to 50%-90% less radiation than with traditional x-ray techniques.

The DIAGNOdent is a new, high-tech laser system. It utilizes laser light to help detect and quantify tooth decay without x-ray exposure. This revolutionary new device is easy to use and turns cavity detection into a harmless, measurable, more reproducible and exacting procedure.
Dynamic Digital Imaging Software
We’re convinced that our digital imaging software makes for fast and easy evaluation of even the most complex dental conditions. With the ability to digitally manipulate both photos and x-rays, we are often able to visualize conditions not perceived through conventional techniques. Images can be rotated, magnified, adjusted for contrast, and even drawn-on for educational purposes. For insurance purposes, referrals, or patient education, it can be faithfully reproduced multiple times. Also, in an emergency situation, we are able to access your chart including x-rays and photos from any internet location in the world providing you with the best possible urgent care.
Additionally, the full-size, clear computer screen image allows us to clearly and simply
discuss the findings with our patients. Together, we are able to examine the outer and inner structures and tissues of each tooth, as well as the surrounding roots, root canals, and gums. And because it helps our patients clearly understand the issues behind their dental health, we’re able to work together to determine the very best treatment options for each case. We can even digitally create your ideal smile before treatment is ever rendered.

Dolphin Orthodontic Imaging is one of the most advanced radiographic computer technologies for braces. This software is a powerful tool that Dr. Meslin uses to capture a digital image of your face, teeth and x-rays all at once! During the initial orthodontic exam, your pictures and x-rays are instantly projected on a computer screen to enhance your understanding and visualization of your individual orthodontic situation. This technology assesses your orthodontic diagnosis accurately and helps confirm a mode of treatment.
Advanced Sterilization
When you visit our office you can relax knowing that the safety of our patients is a primary concern. Cleanliness is as important to us as it is to you and your family. We have spared no expense to ensure our sterilization techniques meet or exceed all guidelines established by OSHA, the CDC and the State of Connecticut. Our instruments are dry-heat and/or autoclave sterilized between every patient. Single-use/disposable items are used whenever possible and discarded after each use. Additionally, an independent outside biological monitoring service regularly verifies our sterilization techniques. You can rest assured that everything is as clean/sterile as possible in our office.
